RACAS Foundation had a productive and impactful event as it participated in a community-led awareness session centered on positive parenting and child rights, held at Ubungo Municipal Council in Saranga Ward on June 14, 2025. The event brought together parents and children in a warm and engaging setting, creating a shared space for learning and open dialogue on how families and communities can work together to build a harmonious, safe, and nurturing environment free from exploitation and abuse.
What made this event particularly meaningful was that it was entirely organized by community members themselves, who took the initiative to invite RACAS Foundation to facilitate discussions on children's rights and the responsibilities of parents. This demonstrated the growing awareness and ownership of child protection issues within the community, a testament to the impact of sustained advocacy and grassroots engagement.
During the session, RACAS Foundation addressed key themes including the fundamental rights of every child, the critical role parents play in safeguarding those rights, and practical ways in which both parents and children can actively contribute to creating a safer and more supportive community. The session fostered open conversations, with participants both adults and children actively engaging and sharing their perspectives. RACAS Foundation commends the Saranga Ward community for their initiative and commitment to child protection, and remains dedicated to supporting such grassroots efforts that place the well-being of children at the heart of community development.
We are proud to work with these amazing organizations
