RACAS Foundation had the privilege of being represented at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Tanzania Education Network / Mtandao wa Elimu Tanzania (TEN/MET), held in Dar es Salaam on February 20, 2026. The meeting brought together a wide range of stakeholders, particularly non-governmental organizations focused on children's welfare and development, creating a rich platform for collective reflection, accountability, and strategic dialogue on the state of education in Tanzania.
TEN/MET is a national education network that brings together civil society organizations and institutions working in the education sector in Tanzania. Its core mandate is to coordinate and strengthen a collective voice in advocating for quality, inclusive, and equitable education for all children. Through policy advocacy, research, public expenditure tracking, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement, TEN/MET plays a critical role in influencing education policies, promoting accountability, and ensuring that every child's right to education is protected and advanced.
The AGM agenda focused on key governance and accountability matters, including:
✔️ Presentation and approval of the audited financial statements for January - December 2024.
✔️ Review and adoption of the annual activity report.
✔️ Updates on the constitutional review process.
✔️ Discussions on membership contributions and the admission of new members.
✔️ Presentation of the Board of Directors' report.
✔️ Reflection on resolutions from the previous AGM and progress made.
RACAS Foundation was represented at the AGM by its Managing Director, who gained valuable insights and practical lessons that serve as strategic guidance for the Foundation's 2026 plans particularly in matters concerning education and children's rights. The discussions placed strong emphasis on the principles of collaboration, transparency, and collective responsibility values that continue to shape and strengthen RACAS Foundation's commitment to improving educational opportunities and overall child development across Tanzania.
