The RACAS Foundation team had the privilege of participating in an enriching and highly impactful workshop focused on strengthening skills and knowledge in child rights and gender-transformative programming. The workshop, organized by the Tanzania Child Rights Forum (TCRF) in collaboration with Save the Children Tanzania, brought together practitioners, advocates, and organizations working in the child rights and gender equality space creating a rich platform for shared learning and professional growth.
The workshop provided RACAS Foundation with a valuable opportunity to reflect on how to design and implement projects that place children's rights at the very center of programming. Key areas of discussion included promoting meaningful children's participation in programs that affect them, and ensuring that duty-bearers including governments, institutions, and communities are held accountable for upholding the rights of every child.
Participants also explored the principles and practical application of a gender-transformative approach a framework that goes beyond addressing the symptoms of gender inequality to actively challenging and changing the underlying social norms, attitudes, and power dynamics that perpetuate inequity. This approach, the workshop emphasized, is essential for achieving lasting and meaningful change for women, girls, and marginalized groups.
The session further offered a valuable platform for participants to openly share experiences, discuss challenges encountered in the field, and exchange innovative ideas on how to advance child rights and gender equity within their respective organizations and communities.
We are proud to work with these amazing organizations
